CHAPTER 1. A SIGN FROM THE HEAVENS

Jasur did not yet know that he would never forget this night.

Night had already fallen over the village. The distant mountains appeared as giant walls in the darkness. The sky was so clear it felt as though one could reach out and touch the stars. Jasur sat by the window, gazing outside.

— Tomorrow I will go to the river with Malika, — he said to himself. At that moment, the sky suddenly lit up.

Whoosh!

A massive blue-and-white light streaked across the sky. It was no ordinary star. The light descended toward the mountains and fell behind the highest peak. For a few seconds, everything went silent. Then, from the direction of the mountains, a long, deep sound echoed: Grumble…

Jasur stared at the mountains from his window for a long time. In the morning, he set off toward the mountains together with Malika.

Reaching the foot of the mountains, they came across a strange sight: a giant footprint lay upon the ground.

— What is this? — asked Malika.

— I don’t know, — Jasur replied. — But this is not the footprint of an ordinary animal.

At the end of the tracks, they found a half-buried black stone. Seven symbols were engraved on its surface. Suddenly, the symbols glowed, and a mysterious voice echoed from the stone:

«DO YOU HAVE THE COURAGE TO FIND THE SEVEN KEYS?»

Jasur touched the stone. It cracked open, and a silver key shaped like a wolf’s head fell out. At that very moment, a strange noise came from behind the trees. Among the trees appeared a massive snow-white shadow. The shadow slowly approached — it was a giant White Wolf.
