The moonlight died, leaving the children without food. Forgetting their wise mother, they had to seek sustenance in the darkness — in the flesh of beasts, within themselves. The Earth’s energy nourished only the body’s essence, not exalting the soul. Mysterious visitors, cloaked by the night, prisoners of the earth’s depths, languished in hopelessness. Krast, the healer of the earth, was their last hope.
