Chapter #1

Tommy was very excited. Today was the day he would visit the big zoo for the first time. He had been waiting for this day for weeks. His parents had promised him a fun-filled day. Tommy put on his favorite hat and grabbed his little backpack. They all got into the car and drove to the zoo. Tommy could hardly sit still. He kept asking, “Are we there yet?”

Chapter #2

When they arrived, Tommy’s eyes widened with wonder. The zoo was huge and filled with colorful signs. They walked up to the entrance and got their tickets. Tommy’s dad handed him a map of the zoo. “This will help us find all the animals,” his dad said. Tommy held the map tightly. He felt like a real explorer. They passed through the gates, and the adventure began.

Chapter #3

The first stop was the lion’s den. Tommy saw a big lion with a golden mane. The lion let out a loud roar. Tommy’s mom explained that lions live in Africa. They are very strong and hunt for their food. Tommy watched as the lion lay down in the shade. “Wow, lions are so cool,” Tommy said.

Chapter #4

Next, they visited the monkey enclosure. The monkeys were swinging from tree to tree. Tommy laughed as one monkey made funny faces at him. His dad told him that monkeys love to eat fruits. Tommy saw a baby monkey clinging to its mother. “They are so cute,” Tommy said. He wanted to stay and watch them all day.
